Corfu Vespa Tours & Rental TERMS & CONDITIONS

Please read the following information carefully before you make your booking with us.

​

DRIVING LICENSE REQUIREMENTS

We would like to kindly inform you that: Drivers who will show up on the rental date with the wrong driving license category will not get a refund for the 20% prepayment of the total rental cost.

The driving license requirements for travellers wishing to book their Vespa Tour or scooter with us are seen below.

​

• For 125cc Vespa Scooter 125cc, the drivers must hold a valid motorcycle category driving license for at least two (2) years and be over 21 years old :

European Driving License or UK: A or A1 or A2 (without the restriction codes 79.03, 79(3), 79.04, 79(4),79(2)).

International Driving License: A or A1(without a restriction to mopeds)

• For 300cc Vespa Scooter, the drivers must hold a valid motorcycle category driving license for at least two (2) years and be over 25 years :

European Driving License or UK: A or  A2 (without the restriction codes 79.03, 79(3), 79.04, 79(4),79(2)).

International Driving License: A (without a restriction to mopeds)

• For a Piaggio MP3 300cc Three-wheeled scooter, minimum age of 24 years old:

The European Car Driving license - Class B must have been obtained before the 19th of January 2013. 

European Driving License: B or A or A2

International Driving License:  A

Non-EU driving license holders can reserve the MP3 only with a valid motorcycle category driving license.

US and Australian citizens must have a valid motorcycle class driving license or a motorcycle endorsement for at least two (2) years. They do not need an IDP. 

​

UK citizens can only hire a 125cc motorbike in Greece if they hold a valid UK  motorcycle driving license A1, A, or A2  without the restriction codes 79.03, 79.04, 79(3), 79(4). No IDP is needed.

We do not accept a provisional driving license.

Kind reminder: When a traveller presents an IDP, the driving license must also be present. The IDP is based on your country’s DL.

CUSTOMER ORIENTATION

Every client will receive an orientation to the motorcycle. The client orientation will cover all aspects of safe motorcycle operation, the clients’ maintenance responsibilities, and state laws.

 

LUGGAGE STORAGE

Corfu Vespa Tours & Rental will provide FREE storage for travellers’ luggage who have booked their Vespa from us (upon request) free of charge.

FUEL

The tour cost of our prescheduled - organized Vespa Tours includes the fuel cost.

Suitable fuel category - 95 octane super unleaded

Fuel costs are the client’s responsibility for the rental options. 

All Corfu Vespa Tours and Rental scooters – motorcycles are rented with a full tank and must return with a full tank.

 

FUEL PURCHASE OPTION

Pay for a full fuel tank in advance and bring the scooter – motorcycle back empty. 

Please view below the fuel purchase service cost:

• Vespa Scooter 125 cc € 20

• Vespa Scooter 300cc € 25

• Piaggio MP3 300 € 25

Please note that we will give no credit for unused fuel.

 

ADDITIONAL DRIVERS

One additional driver is permitted at no extra charge. The minimum age for another driver is 24, and a valid motorcycle category license is required.

 

MAINTENANCE RESPONSIBILITY

The customer is responsible for checking the scooter and reporting mechanical failures immediately. Customers may be held responsible for mechanical damage due to negligence in motorcycle operations or failure to provide routine maintenance.

 

MOTORCYCLE SUBSTITUTION

Corfu Vespa Tours & Rental reserves the right to substitute the confirmed motorcycle for the rental client. Should Corfu Vespa Tours & Rental not provide a confirmed booked motorcycle, WE will provide the client with a similar or better model. This constitutes the maximum liability of Corfu Vespa Tours & Rental.

 

RESTRICTIONS

Violating listed restrictions voids all Theft & Damage Waivers, and the client will be liable for damages.

The client undertakes to:

1) Not operate the vehicle or permit it to transport more passengers or goods if this implies directly or indirectly sublease of the vehicle.

2) Do Not permit the vehicle to be driven by anyone other than the Lessee or any driver previously authorized in the rental sheet.

3) Do Not drive the vehicle in poor physical conditions caused by tiredness, illness, or under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

4)Not operate the vehicle or allow it to be used to push or tow any other vehicle.

5) Do Not operate the vehicle or permit it to be used for any race, test, or contest official.

6) The Lessee will not be able to intervene, modify, handle, repair, or replace any vehicle part or accessory without the lessor’s express prior approval. Default by the Lessee shall result in the payment of the costs of refurbishing the vehicle to its original condition and an amount in compensation for immobilizing the vehicle.

7) Not operate the vehicle or permit it to carry hazardous or explosive substances.

8) Not operate the vehicle to transport goods that exceed the weight, amount, or volume authorized in the vehicle’s logbook. Carrying any hard-shell luggage is strictly prohibited.

9) Not drive or permit the vehicle to be moved or parked on roadways not regularly maintained or on any roads, beach, driveway, or surface likely to cause damage to the vehicle.

10) Park the Vehicle in the correct and secure places.

12) Stop the Vehicle as soon as possible. If any indicator light turns on, indicating something is wrong with the vehicle, the client shall immediately contact Corfu Vespa Tours and Rentals.

 

 CIRCULATION AREAS

 The client must not drive the motorcycle scooter beyond the island’s boundaries.

BOOKING TERMS                                                                                      

The rates are in € (euro). A 20% prepayment of the total amount due is required to secure your reservation when booking. A guaranteed reservation made with a credit or debit card (using the reservation form on our website) is the only way to lock in a price. Please note that the rental or tour cost is locked after booking confirmation. We will never raise the cost of a confirmed booking. But the pricing might change during the season. You can view our pricelist on the pricing page or via our online booking system. 
Discount rates are subject to availability. 
All rental fees vary per model, length, and season (high- mid - low).

 

SECURITY DEPOSIT

A security deposit will be taken at pick-up (Authorization Only) and must be processed via a valid credit card or cash. We often skip the security deposit, but this decision is made on the pick-up time.

RESERVATION AND DEPOSIT - PREPAYMENT

To confirm and secure your booking/rental, a 20%  prepayment of the total amount due will be charged to your credit card or debit card. 
The balance amount due will be paid on the day of your tour or rental by credit card, debit card or cash.

You may also proceed to the total rental or tour cost payment by choosing the “Pay full outstanding balance” option via our web booking system. 

We accept online all major debit and credit cards securely through Stripe and PayPal.

Please note: If you’d like to pay through PayPal, you do NOT require a PayPal account to place an order through the PayPal system. PayPal will allow you to process your payment with a credit card.

PAYMENT METHODS

Corfu Vespa Tours accepts the following methods of payment: Cash, PayPal, Bank /wire transfer, Credit, or debit card.

We will provide you with a secure online payment system. Please check that all your booking details are correct before paying your deposit -  proceeding to a 30% prepayment of the total rental or tour cost.

We accept the following cards for payments made at our office: Visa and MasterCard, Maestro. Our bank terminal does not accept American Express and Diners Club cards at the office, but you can still use them for online payments.

CANCELLATION AND REFUNDS

Please notify «Corfu Vespa Tours & Rental » of any changes or cancellations in your booking as early as possible to avoid any charges or cancellation fees.

✅For a full refund, cancel at least 24 hours before the start date of the experience if the driver has the correct driving license.

✅Full refund if your tour is cancelled due to bad weather.

✅Full refund if your cruise ship doesn’t port for any reason. (To be refunded, the traveller must have noted the ship name in the notes section. 

✅Full refund for last-minute flight cancellations (to be refunded, the traveller must have noted on the notes sections the flight number).

❌ Travellers who make a booking without the correct driving license will not receive a refund of the 10% prepayment amount.

​

❌ Reservation no-shows(without notice) are charged in full and considered non-refundable. 

​

❌ Drivers who show up on the rental date with the wrong driving license category will not get a refund for the 20% prepayment of the total rental cost.

​

❌No refunds for early motorcycle-scooter returns are granted.

​

 

 

PICK-UP, RETURN & LATE CHARGES

Pick-up and return time of rental motorcycle-scooter is accepted during Corfu Vespa Tours business opening hours, from 9:00 - 14:00 \ 17:00 - 21:00

Off-hours Vespa pick-up & drop-off service is available upon request.
Please do not forget to choose - note on your online booking your preferred pick-up and drop-off time.
It does not matter if your preferred hours are during our lunch break. We guarantee that our team will be there to serve you.

If you wish to pick up or return your scooter earlier or later than our official opening hours, don’t hesitate to contact our team, and we will be happy to help free of charge.

The Vespa delivery options and the delivery fees are as written on our website.

FLEX-RETURN – A flexible scooter return option is available upon request for clients choosing the credit card security deposit. The client can return the scooter without the presence of a Corfu Vespa Tours representative either at the Corfu Vespa tour office or their hotel car park by locking the scooter key under the scooter under-seat storage. The security refund will be deducted as soon as we check the motorcycle - scooter, which is in the same condition the client received. Usually, the deducted amount takes 1 to 3 working days to be refunded.

INSURANCE POLICIES AND SURCHARGES

Greek law requires that the scooter rental/tour price includes third-party liability and third-party property damage insurance. However, you are not covered for any damage you may cause to the scooter at your fault.

The Insurance covers your Vehicle’s Civil Liability towards third parties up to the limits below per claim:

• € 1.300.000 per accident or incident for loss or damage to property.

• € 1.300.000 per victim for physical injury.

• € 6.000 damage to your scooter caused by an uninsured at-fault driver.

​

​If there is an accident involving another vehicle and it is unclear who is at fault if the other party claims it was the scooter driver who is at fault and refuses to sign the "accident-friendly declaration document", and if the police report from the initial investigation does not determine whose fault is, the renter of the scooter will be held responsible for repair costs of the rented vehicle. However, if the court finds that the renter-driver was not at fault, the amount paid for repairs (of the rented scooter) to Corfu Vespa will be refunded to the renter.

​

Additional Insurance, “Corfu Vespa Tours Care”, is available to limit the amount paid in case of crash or theft. This extra Insurance is in the driver’s name and is invalid if the driver doesn’t have prior experience riding a scooter/ motorbike or letting unauthorized persons drive. The extra Insurance does not cover the accessories.

 

“Corfu Vespa Tours Care”

Please note that Greek Insurance does not cover any damage you make to the vehicle.

Therefore, we offer additional Insurance, CVT- Care to reduce your deductible from the vehicle’s total value.

  For a Vespa Primavera, from € 4.400 to € 450 excess. For a Vespa GTS, from €5.700,00 to €450 excess; for the Vespa 300cc Racing Sixties edition, from 5.900 to €550 excess. For the 300cc Vespa HPE 2023 model, from €6.500 to €550 excess. From 7.500 for an MP3Yourban to €550 excess. All the accessories (helmets, top case, GPS, gloves, phone holder) are not covered by insurance and are paid for separately in case of loss or damage.

Additional insurance is €9 /day per motorcycle/scooter.

​

The client will forfeit 50€ for a lost set of keys. For the 300cc Vespa GTS 2023 model, the key costs 280 euros.
The client will forfeit 120€ if a helmet is lost or stolen.
The client will forfeit 400€ if the GPS unit is damaged, lost, or stolen.

The Lessee will forfeit 80€ if Ram Mount X-Grip® is damaged, lost, or stolen.

 

Not covered:

The Lessee considers that the insurance policies do not cover any claim for, or related to, death or personal injury.

Do not cover any  damage incurred to the insured Subject of rental caused by a person
        - who rode the vehicle and was not a holder of the required driving license for the vehicle
        - or whose driver's license had been confiscated by the correspondent authorities
        - if the insurance event was caused by a person riding the insured vehicle while under the influence of alcohol or psychotropic substances.

The Insurance shall not apply to damage caused to the insured vehicle by the willful conduct of the Lessee.

The Insurance does not cover exemplary or punitive damages, fines, or penalties claimed, ordered or awarded against you or any claim for, or related to, death or personal injury.

All our scooters- motorbikes are equipped with an immobilizer.

In the extremely rare case of theft, the client will have to pay the vehicle’s market value unless he purchases additional Insurance. For the extra Insurance to cover the theft of the rental scooter, a police report and the scooter key are needed. The client will be charged the vehicle’s market value if the Lessee does not possess the scooter key.

​

If the driver lacks the necessary driving skills and experience, Corfu Vespa Tours reserves the right to cancel the extra insurance plan on the day of pick-up after informing the renter.

​

TYRE INSURANCE
The “Tyre insurance” covers unwanted damage caused by accidents – such as curbing or a blow-out – and malicious acts. 
The tyre insurance covers 100% of the tyre replacement or repair cost.
The Insurance covers only one (1) tyre per rental and does not cover the wheel reem. 
Driving off-road is forbidden. 

The tyre insurance cost is €5,00 per rental period.

LOSS OR THEFT OF THE VEHICLE.

As in the case of accidents, in the event of theft or total or partial loss of the motorcycle-scooter, the client undertakes to notify Corfu Vespa Tours wholly and immediately cooperate with the lessor and the insurance company in the investigation and defence of any investigation or proceeding.

All our scooters and motorbikes are equipped with an immobilizer.

In the extremely rare case of theft, the client will have to pay the vehicle’s market value unless he purchases additional Insurance. For the extra Insurance to cover the theft of the rental scooter, a police report and the scooter key are needed. If the Lessee does not have the scooter key in his possession, the Client will be charged the total market value of the vehicle.
